Sami Ghareeb, D.D.S., M.A.G.D.

Sami Ghareeb, DDS, MAGD - Is the founder of GHAREEB dental group. He graduated from Meharry Medical College in 1975 with a doctorate degree in dental science. He is very active in the Academy of General Dentistry both in the state of West Virginia and nationwide. He is the inspiration behind the gentle dentistry for which we are so known. Dr. Sami is now a Master of the Academy of General Dentistry.
 
Today, highly trained and well educated professionals use state-of-the-art procedures and techniques to help their patients retain the appearance and function of their teeth for life.
 
Dr. Sami Ghareeb and the GHAREEB dental group, located in Poca, WV at 178 Main Street, offers the most advanced dentistry to his patients while remaining sensitive to their fears and concerns. He provides a wide range of dental services which include teeth cleaning, fillings, extractions, and oral cancer detection. Additionally, the GHAREEB dental group provides cosmetic dentistry such as whitening, bonding, crowns, bridges, and veneers. He sees patients of every age and can guide them toward specialized care as needed. His commitment to his patients' well-being extends to their emotional state as well. The dental office maintains a comfortable atmosphere and the staff maintains a willingness to address the patients' fears and concerns with genuine understanding.




Steven Ghareeb, D.D.S., F.A.G.D

Dr. Steven is the son of Dr. Sami Ghareeb. He grew up in Poca and Cross Lanes and graduated Cross Lanes Christian School in 1997. He completed his undergraduate study at West Virginia State College and Marshall University before going on to West Virginia University School of Dentistry, where he graduated in 2004. While in dental school, Dr. Steven met his wife, Shayna, who also graduated in 2004 with a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene. Dr. Steven and Shayna enjoy traveling and attending WVU football games.

Dr. Steven has been instrumental in introducing new technology at Ghareeb Dental Group. He believes that state-of-the-art equipment and techniques are essential in treating his patients with the best care possible. He has special interests in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, and sedation dentistry, and he has completed advanced coursework in those fields.

Dr. Steven understands the importance of continuing education in keeping up-to-date on the latest dental research and treatment, and is very involved in local and national professional dental organizations. He is currently pursuing special accreditation in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and fellowship status in the Academy of General Dentistry, where he already holds several national councilmember positions. Locally, Dr. Steven
is the founder of Young Guns Study Club and in the administration of Kanawha Valley Study Club. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, American Society of Forensic Odontology, and Virginia Street Study Club. Dr. Steven is a fellow of the AGD.

Community involvement is very important to everyone at Ghareeb Dental Group, and Dr. Steven is no exception. Dr. Steven helps educate others during their dental training by serving as an adjunct clinical professor of WVU school of Dentistry, and by teaching dental assisting students at the Putnam Career and Technical Center. Dr. Steven also helps meet the dental needs of the underprivileged by regularly volunteering at West Virginia Health Right.

Dr. Steven practices mainly in the South Charleston location, but is available for patient treatment and consultations at all three offices.

Mitri A. Ghareeb, D.D.S.

Dr. Mitri grew up in Cross Lanes, WV and attended the Cross Lanes Christian School. He me his wife, Heather, there and they were married in 1996. They have been blessed with 3 beautiful daughters, Kalila, Samira, and Aleeya.

Dr. Mitri did his undergraduate work at West Virginia State College, and then graduated with an RBA from Marshall University in 2000. Dr. Mitri then attended the WVU School of Dentistry and graduated Suma-cum-laude at the top of his dental school class in 2006. His primary practice is in Cross Lanes, where he and his team enjoy making patients feel right at home.

He and his family also live in Cross Lanes, and love to cheer on the Mountaineers. He is active in his church and teaches Sunday School. He is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the West Virginia Dental Association the OKU Dental Honor Society and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He is also a member of the Kanawha Valley Dental Society and the Young Guns Study Club. He is also furthering his education by taking a 2 year Mentorship program in Scottsdale, Arizona under the direction of Gordon Christensen, D.D.S.

Mathew S. Scarberry, D.D.S.

Dr. Scarberry is originally from Barboursville, WV. He graduated from Cabell-Midland High School in 1998. He then attended Marshall Univeristy and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Molecular Biology and Physiology.

Following his tenure at Marshall, Dr. Scarberry attended the WVU School of Dentistry and graduated in 2006. During his education at WVU he met his wife, formerly Kathleen Denise Ghareeb, while she was completing her dental hygiene degree at WVU. They were married in 2007 under the rotunda at the State Capitol.

Following dental school, Dr. Scarberry worked for Valley Health Systems 2 years, then joined Ghareeb Dental Group full time earlier in 2008. He is very skilled in oral surgery procedures, and has a great reproire with his patients.

Dr. Scarberry is a member of several dental organizations including: American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, West Virginia Dental Association, Kanawha Valley Dental Association, Young Guns Study Club and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Scarberry is also the Vice-President of the Huntington Dental Society.

Azita Misaghi, D.D.S.

Azita Misaghi, DDS - Has been with GHAREEB dental group for over 10 years. She graduated from the West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1989. She is excelllent with children and a delight to all patients.

Nick Feola, D.D.S.

Dr. Nick is a 2008 graduate of the WVU School of Dentistry. Dr. Nick became familiar with Ghareeb Dental Group during his time at the School of Dentistry where he did a 6 week rotation with us during his senior year. We were very impressed with Dr. Nick and his clinical skills and patient care. Dr. Nick also works with his uncle Dr. Nick Shalhoup in Dunbar, WV. It is our pleasure to welcome him to Ghareeb Dental Group.
